To qualify for the programme in Germany the applicants have to go through a 6-months pre-programme, which starts in March 2008. The pre-programme consists of an E-learning programme in Biotechnology and a basic German language course. In August 2008 the applicants will undergo an interview in their home country for the final selection. The basis for this selection will be successful completion of the e-learning programme and participation in a German language course. The formal paperwork will then be completed by those candidates chosen for the programme.

The international travel to and from Germany has to be borne by the participant or the participating countries as their partnership contribution. All other programme-related costs are covered by InWEnt on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ); this includes a monthly allowance for the Federal Republic of Germany (sufficient to provide for the living expenses for one person), health insurance and travel expenses in Germany incurred by the advanced training.

For applicants the following fields of research or work experience are relevant: health care biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, food technology, industrial biotechnology and the bioconversion of renewable raw materials.

Before leaving for Germany, each participant has to design in coordination with her/his superior a Transfer Project, which she/he elaborates during the whole training programme in Germany.

If the applicant already has an idea of a suitable Transfer Project, that is agreed by his employer, it would be an asset to send the title and if possible a short sketch of the project idea together with the application-form.
